twenty one pilots: banditø tour concert vlog Tampa 11/03/2018

I told you how hard it was to get tickets for Twenty One Pilots’ Bandito tour… the big day had finally arrived!

It took a bit of organizing to be in Tampa for the concert on Saturday night, and then be in Raiford on Sunday morning to see my husband. So I booked a hotel in Wildwood, about an hour from Tampa, which allowed us (I went with my mother-in-law because, in order to visit the next day, the person needed to be on his visitation list) to stop on the way to change (#bandito) and have an early diner before heading back to Tampa, and not having to drive too long at night before sleeping, while shortening the road to Raiford the next morning. We were lucky it was the weekend of the change of time (end of daylight saving time), which allowed us to sleep an extra ^^.

When we arrived at our seats, I had a moment of panic because it was REALLY high, and I’me afraid of heights. Every time I had to get up from my seat to let someone go by, I clung to the backrest with a deep breath, and I wondered if I was going to make it… But luckily, apparently, we quickly get used to this kind of things and I felt already a little better when the opening band got on stage. Once in the dark, it’s less impressive and once TØP was there it was forgotten!

As you will see in the video I was FAR AWAY from the stage, but right in front and in the middle, so I saw all the movements everywhere and it was pretty cool, but I could clearly not distinguish their faces or enjoy Tyler’s every little dance steps of on the main stage. Fortunately they occupy all the space and the show is GREAT! If you have the opportunity to see them do not hesitate because they are only two but they give EVERYTHING!

As a bonus, fans are super nice and polite, in a line for the bathroom that was moved, just before TØP arrived after the opening bands, a girl told me that I was in front of her. It may seem like nothing but I think we agree that we are more often passed than anything else in general. No jostling at any time (but I didn’t go to the pit either), and no panic or anxiety attack for me in the middle of 20500 people! And I must say, great organization from the venue (Amalie Arena), and from the city with police to do the traffic and monitor the streets around. Rather reassuring because the vast majority of Twenty One Pilots fans are MUCH younger than me.

I enjoyed every second. I finally disconnected from all my problems during their 2-hours set, I danced and sang, and I had the impression of belonging to a group. Unfortunately, the reality quickly took over and I felt even more lonely the next few days …
… But I got a ticket (much easier to get 😛), much better placed for their June concert in Jacksonville, I can’t wait!

Bonus: This video of “Neon Gravestones” 🙂

Thank you ❤️

I want to thank every one of you for your birthday wishes, especially that I am not on Social Media a lot anymore and I missed some of yours (I’m sorry I can’t remember anything by myself 😩).

I had a nice birthday weekend:

I received a “50’s” dress, gift from my sister and my mother, that I could try on Saturday when my in-laws took me to a retro dinner 🙂.

I then spent Sunday with Alan, whom I had not seen for 2 weeks (it was my first time missing a visit). That probably doesn’t sound like a long time, but it is when you are sick and your partner is worrying about you, not sure how you are doing and has no way to find out or support you. And, well, you just want to be with them!
It was a sweet visit so time went by real fast!

As a birthday present, he got me a stuffed animal… a honey badger. He said honey badger is our spirit animal, because they don’t care, they’re fearless, they don’t give up and they’re super smart.

Yesterday was somewhat different, I worked most of the day and went to a doctor appointment. I saw an audiologist and an ENT and was officially diagnosed with Ménière’s Disease. Happy birthday to me I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️.

For those who asked how my life in the USA is going…
I am still adjusting. I work full time (it’s 40 hours/week here) and spend quite some time in the car (count about an hour to get anywhere with traffic). Of course all my Sundays and holidays are with/for Alan (and some occasional Saturdays when I get a special visit \o/). I love this man with everything I have in me, so those days are my happy place and favorite moments (look at him, he is so damn cute!).

The first 6 months I didn’t have a car or any activities, but at least I found a job rather quickly. In March I started having some health issues, the surgery, more “episodes” and so on, and it’s really exhausting at times, since I have to work earlier/later to make up for the missing time to get to all my doctor appointments, on top of not feeling good. Which is why it sometimes takes me days/weeks to reply to simple messages. I still don’t have my own place (luckily Frieda and Jerry didn’t kick me out yet) because medical bills got in the way, but I’m back on track and saving for this again. I did buy a car in the meantime and it’s life-changing here!

I am doing ATS (American Tribal Style) again, it was something I missed since I left Denmark so I’m happy to have found a sister studio here 🙂.
And I am also taking an American Sign Language class.
I don’t really know anyone here yet, but as you can see I barely have any free time.
I might die of an anxiety attack but I’m excited to see Twenty One Pilots live in November.

Altogether, it’s moving slow but it’s moving forward. I have quite some big projects for my 37th year, one being getting Alan out of this place, with his re-sentencing coming, so keep us in your thoughts and prayers (#America)!

Thanks again

Receiving a package at your P.O. Box

I explained in a post that I took a P.O. Box, mostly to be able to receive my pen pals’ letters. I chose the minimum size, because beside a few letters, I didn’t expect to receive much there. I read that if we get a package that doesn’t fit the box (that is really small), they leave you a slip and you can get it back at the counter. But I was surprised to see this:

I don’t know if it’s like this in all the post offices, but I imagine it’s pretty common here. They leave you a key for one of the bigger boxes…

and your package awaits you inside:

Convenient for everyone! 🙂

Happy New Year everyone!

May 2018 be bright and full of beautiful moments for all of you.
We send our love to those of you who went through difficult times last year and we hope 2018 will be healing and bring you unsuspected joys.

In a year full of ups and downs, I’d say the ups outweigh the downs… I’m as close as can be to my best friend and the love of my life! Uncertainty looms over the end of 2018 with my resentencing on schedule to be resolved before 2019. Our hearts are set on victory – of any proportion – but if not, having the best teammate brings sweetness even in failure! 2017 was a good – long! – year, in large part thanks to our family and friends who support and encourage us… it’s heartwarming to think of all the inspirations and selfless gestures we received throughout 2017. Thanks to everyone for the kindness and encouragement! We wish you a wonderful 2018!
